Match Fund
Can your organisation offer ‘match-funding’ for your contributions?
Matched funding has the ability to boost the income raised at school fundraising events like Funk Night and other Friends' events. An increasing number of large companies operate a scheme whereby they “match” charity fundraising or donations undertaken by their employees. These organisations set aside millions of pounds to fund such schemes and are more than happy to support their staff in raising money for charities of their choice. The amounts donated can range from a small amount to £1000+ per employee per event.
As our ‘Friends of GCS’ is a registered charity (and our school is what’s known as an ‘Exempt charity’) we are in a position to benefit from your involvement, however big or small, at any fundraising school event. Your participation might be, for example, serving at the bar, clearing up or helping to sell raffle tickets. All qualify as ‘assisting with fundraising’. Many employers can match your charity donations – which could double the income to our Appeal. If your employer offers a match-funding scheme, please contact mcheesman@guildfordcounty.co.uk or guildfordcountyfriends@gmail.com so that we can see how we comply with their requirements.
