Our House System
Wider curriculum – House System - 2022-23
The House system is a significant part of our school life. Each student from years 7 to 13 is a member of one of our six houses and is able to compete in a wealth of activities in a range of disciplines. The events take place across the whole year and involve a range with points from events added every term. The House events calendar runs from Easter to Easter with the final House Cup winners announced in the Easter dismissals assembly
Events:
House Music is the largest of our house events with all students involved in performing a house song as well as a 20-minute programme of music.
House Drama is a chance for lower school students to demonstrate their acting ability performing plays written by the year 12's in their house.
Other creative skills are also demonstrated with the Public Speaking competition, House Art and Creative Writing.
There are also many sports events including Rowing, Basketball, Winter Sports (Football, Rugby, Netball), Badminton and Summer Sports/Athletics.
Academically there is also the House Reading competition as well as our House Quiz and House Chess
Finally, the Commitment Cup ensures that everyone takes part in gaining house points by awarding them based on how each student does in their commitment to learning in each interim report.
