Welcome to Guildford County School Venue Hire

Guildford County School is proud to be an important part of the local community. Through our venue hire programme, we are delighted to make our facilities available to local clubs, organisations and community groups, supporting a wide range of sporting, educational and recreational activities.

Our facilities include spacious halls, sports facilities, classrooms and specialist spaces suitable for sports clubs, fitness classes, dance groups, rehearsals, meetings, educational activities, performances and community events.

Conveniently located in the heart of Guildford, just a five-minute walk from Guildford railway station and the town centre, our site offers excellent accessibility along with onsite parking for visitors.

As we begin the new academic year, we would like to welcome back all our existing hirers and thank them for their continued support. We are also excited to welcome new clubs and groups looking to enjoy our excellent facilities.

Indoor Facilities

Main School Classrooms Various classrooms of different sizes are available to hire, perfect for smaller groups, evening classes or adult education. Dining Room This is a large room with very high, beautiful, period ceilings, which can be hired with or without tables and chairs. It is perfect for meetings, rehearsals, and small functions. Library The library is an inviting space, perfect for informal small group meetings.	Sports Centre Sports Hall Our four court Sports Hall has been constructed to Sport England standards and accommodates the majority of sports including basketball, badminton, volleyball, indoor netball, trampolining, futsal and handball. The Fitness Suite A multi-gum/fitness area hired to personal trainers for group fitness sessions. The Studio Stuitable for dance and fitness classes - includes wall mirrors, ballet barres, speakers and a small kitchenette.
Humphrey Richardson Taylor (HRT) This is an L shaped hall which can seat up to 125 people and is an excellent venue for business meetings, choir rehearsals or training courses. It comes with a projector and screen.	Mayhew Theatre The Mayhew Theatre is a purpose built black box performance space with professional sound, lighting and acoustic design. Its flexible layout and retractable tiered seating for 190 make it suitable for more immersive performances as well as for rehearsals, theatre clubs, seminars, conferences, film/comedy nights and community events. The space includes a 9m x 4.4m performance area, projector screen, stage curtains, and a connecting door to the Humphrey Richardson Taylor Room for use as a green room or for refreshments.
Sixth Form Centre The Sixth Form Centre offers a versatile Common Room ideal for meetings, clubs, and activities that benefit from a more relaxed setting. It includes a large projector, tables, comfortable seating, and a kitchenette. Several adjoining and additional classrooms of varying sizes are also available to book. The Centre is easily accessible and provides a separate, quiet space suitable for a wide range of uses.	Concert Hall The Concert Hall is a large, functional space with seating for up to 220 people, making it ideal for performances, presentations, events, fitness classes, and community activities. It features a raised stage and is equipped with projector screens located at both the front and the back of the stage. The hall can also be combined with the adjacent foyer (Crush Hall) to provide additional room for breakouts, receptions, or welcoming guests.

Outdoor Facilities

MUGA A fantastic 9 a side size, floodlit, all weather Multi Use Game Area, that can be hired as a whole pitch or two separate 5 a side pitches. It is also marked and suitable for rugby, hockey and netball. This can be hired during after school hours and Saturdays as well as during school holidays for training only. WODELAND SPORTS GROUND Only a short walk from the school, Wodeland Sports Ground is an excellent venue for club training, exercise sessions and outdoor events. The site includes brand new netball, basketball and tennis courts, cricket nets, and a large maintained grass field suitable for 9v9 football, rugby practice, rounders and athletics. The grounds are available to hire for a wide range of leisure activities. Please note: facilities are only available during daylight hours, and the nearest toilets are located at the main school.
