Guildford County School is extremely fortunate to have fantastic facilities which are pleased to be able to hire out at competitive rates.
All lettings come with access to toilets and on-site parking for 80 cars on a first come first served basis. We are a five minute walk from Guildford Train Station and the town centre.
Our main site has just undergone a fabulous refurbishment with facilities to accommodate academic, leisure and business events.
Indoor Facilities
Main Hall with a capacity to seat 400 the Main Hall is an extremely versatile venue. It is 227m2 with a 89m2 stage area. There is a lighting rig, acoustic dividing doors, access to refurbished changing room, toilets and disabled toilet.
In addition there is a 105m2 Crush Hall (foyer) area, perfect for breakouts or welcoming guests.
A Grand Piano, amplification, projector and screen can be arranged at additional cost.
Old Gym –The old gym is in the main building dating back to 1914 and has beautiful period features. The Old Gym measures 219m2, seats 120 and has a sprung floor.
A projector and screen, access to gym equipment and table tennis tables can be arranged at additional cost.
New Gym – the new gym measures 247m2 / 23’ by 14’ and has a sprung floor, basketball hoops, netball hoops, refurbished toilets & disabled toilet and changing facilities.
Humphrey Richardson Taylor (HRT) hall measures 132m2. Seating and tables for 120 people can be provided. Built only three years ago the HRT hall is an excellent venue for business meetings.
A projector and screen and piano can be arranged at additional cost.
A purpose built 71m2 Drama Studio is a fantastic facility for drama and theatre groups and band practice or rehearsals.
Various Classrooms of all different sizes are available to hire, perfect for smaller groups, evening classes or adult education. Classrooms are available in both the period building or in the newer part of the school.
Common Rooms – there are several common rooms which are perfect for more informal meetings or coffee mornings with comfy seating and basic kitchen facilities.
Other Facilities
A newly build fantastic art block with outstanding facilities, ICT suites, food technology rooms are also onsite.
The schools has a 94m2 professional kitchen, which may be available to hire alongside another letting at the school, subject to various conditions. Please contact us for more information.
We are able to provide catering for lettings, subject to minimum numbers.
We welcome enquiries relating to conferences. We hold a number of conferences and special events during the year, and are happy to discuss a bespoke package that will fit your requirements.

Outdoor Facilities
We have various outdoor sporting facilities at:
Wodeland Avenue Sports Ground – grass pitches and hard tennis / netball courts
Urnfield Sports Ground – a fantastic site set in the beauty of the Merrow Downs, including pitches for rugby, football, hockey, rounders and cricket, a 100m grass running track, changing rooms, a pavilion and parking. The pavilion has a function room with stunning views of the Surrey Hills on three sides, and an adjacent kitchenette.

The acceptance of any booking is at the discretion of Guildford County School and dependant on the availability of an on-site Caretaker.
