Teacher of Art and Photography, TMSP or UPS

Starting Date: 1 September 2021, full-time

Guildford County is an outstanding school seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to join a highly successful department to teach up to and including A Level.  Art and Photography is a strong department in the school with a very supportive team ethos. Last year, GCSE students achieved 92% grade 5+ and 25% at grade 7 and above.  At A level, students achieved 80% grade A*-C in 40% grade A*-B.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Teacher of Art and Photography to join this highly successful and incredibly well resourced department, housed in its own purpose built block.  The position could suit either an experienced teacher or a recently qualified teacher with the appropriate experience.  We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (previously NQTs) and actively support new teachers with an extensive development programme that will take you through your first two years.  We are as committed to your development as we will expect you to be to the progress of your students. 

The successful applicant will have:

• Skills in delivering a range of Art and Photography techniques.
• The ability to teach across other subjects within Design and Technology.
• An understanding of, and commitment to, an inclusive school ethos, working restoratively and ensuring the well-being of each child.
• A successful track record of raising attainment and progress for pupils of all abilities.
• A commitment to providing a highly effective learning environment and a willingness to positively embrace change, challenge and opportunities.
• A passion for Art and Photography, interested in inspiring pupils and looking to be part of a vibrant, forward-thinking and successful team.
