Creativity Day 2008

Parallels
Creativity Day 2008
Tuesday 12th February saw yet another successful creativity day at Guildford County School. One of our aims as a Specialist Music College is to promote creativity across the curriculum. ‘Parallels’ was a fantastic opportunity for staff and pupils to show their creative flair in all aspects of the curriculum. All Key Stage 3 lessons were in a slightly different format to usual, from parallel shortbread making in Food Technology, to movie making in Geography, code breaking in Maths, to ‘alter ego’ in English, our students were able to show their creativity in a range of ways throughout the day. All students evaluated their day and we had very useful feedback.
“Today was great fun! I have learnt new skills and worked well with lots of different people” Tom G
“I helped to plan an imaginary school in Uganda; I co-operated well and produced good work” Tommy L
The day was a great success and shows how creativity in the curriculum can inspire young minds. Thank you to all the Staff for their great lessons that went to create the day.
