If you are still unhappy, you can make an appointment to meet, first with the Deputy Headteacher and, finally, the Headteacher. After this, unresolved matters will be dealt with by the school’s governing body and the Local Education Authority.

Statement of Intent

At Guildford County School we aim to resolve all concerns and grievances by informal means. However, where the issue requires a more formal approach, we will at all times be:

IMPARTIAL – we will respect the arguments and points of view on all sides

NON-ADVERSARIAL – we will deal with all concerns and complaints in a spirit of openness and reasonableness

SWIFT – we will act as quickly as possible to resolve issues, setting time limits for action and keeping people informed of progress

FAIR – where necessary we will appoint an independent person to investigate concerns

CONFIDENTIAL – all meetings, conversations, minutes and reports will be strictly private

It is the belief of Guildford County School that only by working together to resolve issues and concerns will staff, parents and pupils succeed in bringing about the improvements in school life and education for which we all strive.

The School Complaints Procedure sets out in detail the school’s mechanisms for addressing and resolving complaints. Copies are available from the school office and online at www.guildfordcounty.co.uk
