16-19 Bursary Fund Guidelines for 2016–17
These guidelines apply to students who are aged 16, 17 or 18 on the 31st August 2016.
What is the 16-19 Bursary Fund?
The 16-19 Bursary Fund aims to help 16 to 19 year-olds overcome any financial barriers they may face when attending a sixth form or further education college.
There are two types of Bursaries available:
This is an award of up to £1,200 per year for students who:
- receive Income Support or Universal Credit in their own name, or
- receive Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit and either Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment in their own name, or
- are care leavers or currently care
Discretionary Student Bursary:
The School also has money to help students who do not qualify for a Vulnerable Bursary but who face genuine financial barriers to attending school by contributing to transport costs, course costs such as meals, books and equipment, where the annual household income is less than £25,521. The award may not meet 100% of your costs.
